QR-Generator Privacy Policy

Instant QR Codes

When you use the Instant QR Generator, the QR code is generated in your browser. The URL you type is not submitted to our server for storage, and we do not create an account or profile for instant QR use.

Information We Collect

• For dynamic URL QR codes, we store the destination URL, optional title, public QR identifier, and a stats identifier.
• For dynamic file QR codes, we store the uploaded file, original file name, file type, file size, optional title, public QR identifier, and a stats identifier.
• When someone scans a dynamic QR code, we record scan analytics such as scan time, device type, browser, platform, referrer, and a hashed version of the scanner IP address. We do not store raw scanner IP addresses.
• We may process basic technical information, such as request headers and security logs, to operate the service, prevent abuse, and diagnose errors.

How We Use Information

• To generate and serve dynamic QR scan links.
• To redirect scanners to the destination URL or provide access to uploaded files.
• To show QR owners scan counts and recent scan statistics when they provide the correct stats ID.
• To protect the service from spam, abuse, security threats, and technical failures.

Uploaded Files

If you create a dynamic QR code for an image or PDF, the file is uploaded to our storage provider so the QR code can serve that file. Anyone with the QR scan link may be able to access the linked file, so you should not upload confidential, sensitive, or unlawful content.

Data Retention

Dynamic QR code records, uploaded files, and scan statistics are kept while the QR code remains active or as needed to operate the service. Dynamic QR codes, related scan statistics, and uploaded files may be automatically deleted if the QR code has not been scanned for more than 90 days. If a dynamic QR code is never scanned, it may be deleted more than 90 days after it was created. We may also delete inactive, abusive, expired, or unlawful QR codes and files at our discretion. Instant QR codes are not stored by our service.

Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell your personal data. We may use infrastructure providers, hosting services, storage providers, analytics, and security tools only as necessary to operate QR-Generator. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, and service.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including hashed scan IP addresses, to protect information handled by QR-Generator. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

• You can use Instant QR generation without submitting data to our server for storage.
• You can avoid uploading sensitive files or linking to private destinations.
• You may contact us to request help with a QR code, uploaded file, or privacy question.

Children’s Privacy

QR-Generator is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
